Every year, our Kenyan community in Canada comes together to honour heritage, unity, and the spirit of independence. Join us as we raise the flag, honour our journey, and celebrate a people whose roots run deep and whose impact continues to shine globally.
The Kenyan Flag Raising Ceremony is a proud annual tradition that brings together Kenyans, East Africans, and friends of Kenya across the Greater Toronto Area to honour Kenya’s Independence Day. Hosted by Yes Youth and Women Can (YYWC) in partnership with the City of Brampton, this celebration highlights our heritage, unity, and the strength of the Kenyan diaspora in Canada.
This year’s ceremony will feature the official raising of the Kenyan national flag, the singing of the Kenyan and Canadian anthems, and inspiring reflections from community leaders. It is a moment for cultural pride, remembrance, and collective celebration.
Join us at Ken Whillans Square for an uplifting evening filled with patriotism, cultural expression, and community connection. Whether you are Kenyan by birth, heritage, or friendship, this is your celebration to be part of.
