The Vision Behind YYWC: Empowering Youth and Women Across Canada
In every community, there are voices waiting to be heard, talents waiting to be discovered, and dreams waiting to be nurtured. At YYWC (Yes Youth and Women Can), our mission is simple: to create platforms, programs, and partnerships that unlock the potential of youth and women across Canada and the African diaspora.
Founded on the belief that leadership starts at the grassroots, YYWC is more than a nonprofit — it’s a movement rooted in recognition, opportunity, and legacy.
Our “Why”: What Drives Us
Too often, youth and women doing impactful work go unseen. Entrepreneurs struggle to find space. Cultural identities are left out of mainstream narratives. Community builders burn out without support.
YYWC exists to:
Celebrate excellence where it’s often overlooked
Provide access to economic and social opportunities
Empower identity through culture, heritage, and storytelling
Build networks that turn local ideas into national influence
Whether it’s a vendor selling their first product or a leader receiving their first award, we show up to lift them up.
Our Impact (2024–2025 Snapshot)
3000+ total attendees across our three major events
30+ vendors and exhibitors supported
50+ awardees recognized for their work
10+ community and institutional partners
200+ media assets (photos, interviews, recaps) produced
Audiences from across Ontario, Alberta, and global diaspora hubs
We’re growing — not just in numbers, but in depth, diversity, and direction.
Our Ecosystem of Support
Behind every YYWC event is a network of:
Volunteers giving their time and creativity
Sponsors and funders who believe in impact
Media teams capturing legacy in motion
Community leaders who champion visibility
Local and global partners who help us scale
We don’t just work for the community — we work with the community.
Our Vision for the Future
YYWC is building toward:
A national fellowship program for youth and women innovators
Mentorship circles connecting elders, professionals, and students
A digital storytelling lab capturing diaspora experiences
A community grant fund to support grassroots businesses and artists
Year-round programming across multiple Canadian provinces
We’re just getting started — and we’re inviting changemakers, funders, and collaborators to help us write the next chapter.
At YYWC, We don’t just empower people. We recognize them. Equip them. Celebrate them. Connect them. And walk with them.
