Every April, the Tanzanian community and friends of Tanzania come together to celebrate a shared heritage rooted in unity, culture, and national pride. Join us as we honour Union Day, raise the Tanzanian flag, and celebrate a vibrant culture that continues to enrich communities across Canada.
The Tanzania Flag Raising Ceremony is a special cultural celebration bringing together Tanzanians, East Africans, and members of the broader Brampton community to honour Tanzania Heritage Month and Union Day.
Hosted by Yes Youth and Women Can (YYWC) in partnership with the Tanzanian community in Brampton, this event highlights the beauty of Tanzanian culture while celebrating the contributions of the Tanzanian diaspora to Canada’s multicultural landscape.
The ceremony will feature the official raising of the Tanzanian national flag, the singing of both the Tanzanian and Canadian national anthems, and reflections from community and civic leaders recognizing the importance of unity, heritage, and cultural diversity.
Guests will also experience the richness of Tanzanian culture through traditional food, music, art, and community engagement activities.
Whether you are Tanzanian by birth, heritage, or friendship, this event offers a meaningful opportunity to celebrate culture, connection, and community.
Be part of a vibrant gathering as we commemorate Tanzania’s historic Union Day and celebrate the culture and contributions of the Tanzanian community in Canada.
